Protect the new Apple iPad with Proporta

The new Apple iPad was announced last night at the usual location, the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and after months of rumours, speculation and anticipation, the new iPad looks to be yet another stunning creation from our friends at Apple. Boasting a 9.7-inch LED backlit glossy widescreen, two different models will be available, Wi-Fi and 3G, shipping at the end of March and end of April respectively.

So far Proporta has a couple of perfect accessories to keep this beauty out of harms way. First up, the Perfora Leather Style Netbook Case (Apple iPad). Thanks to its robust faux leather protection and luxury lining, this protective iPad case is guaranteed to envelope your iPad in the style it deserves. Available in black, red or green, the handcrafted faux-leather exterior guards against everyday damage, scratches and knocks, and the contrast stripe and perforation detail design means that it cuts quite a dash in the process. As an added extra, there are slots for storing your spare memory cards inside.

Also available from Proporta is the Maya Leather Style Netbook Case (Apple iPad), ideal for housing your Apple iPad and keeping it safe from everyday knocks and bumps. The contrast white and grey diagonal stripes offer a stylish finish to this accessory and keep your iPad (and you) looking super stylish.

Additions to our iPad line up – coming soon

Yesterday Proporta released some information on the accessories they have available for the new Apple iPad. Well, here’s a heads up on some more products that they have in the pipeline.

Available for pre-order, the Aluminium Lined Leather Case (Apple iPad) is Proporta’s trademark case and will come fully equipped with a tough aluminium lining to protect your iPad’s screen from crushing and impact shocks.

You won’t want to leave home without an Advanced Screen Protector (Apple iPad), as the main feature of this stunning device is it’s 9.7-inch screen, you won’t want anything to get in the way of it looking brand spanking new for a very long time. Also available for pre-order.

Set up as pre-interest only for the time being, Proporta would like to hear what you think about the Leather Style Protective Case (Apple iPad) which could very well be available in a variety of colour options to suit you. Choose from red, pink, black or brown.

And finally, set to pre-interest as well is the Silicone Sole (Apple iPad), which will work as a protective skin for your iPad and is perfect for adding that little bit of extra protection to your precious device.

Bestskinsever Microsoft Zune 120GB Review

Everyone knows of the Invisible Shield, but not everyone knows that there are other places to go that might be a better option for most people. For the last few years I have been buying Zagg’s Invisible Shield for my electronics (You can see a review of this a while back). I loved them, but then I ran across Bestskinsever.  They were nice enough to send me a few samples of their product. I just got done putting on my friends Microsoft Zune 120GB and I’m really impressed. Here are some photos of the Bestskinsever on the Zune:

The Bestskinsever is honestly the same thing as the Invisible Shield as far as the protection, but you get it at a fraction of the cost! I also found that the Bestskinsever was a lot easier to apply than the Invisible Shield. It might seem a little weird at first when your mixing the solution considering that they tell you to use soap and water, but it works like a charm! I like this better because it’s easier to control the amount of solution that you use on your product, and you don’t have to worry about running out of solution. Running out of solution was always a problem with the Invisible Shield. The only thing I should mention is that putting on the Bestskinsever around corners is no easy task. I recommend that you apply the skin on a larger area and let it dry before you move on to pushing the corners down. Here is an example of what I am talking about:

As you can see I let the Bestskinever dry on the back of the Zune for about 30 minuets before I started to push the sides down. Whenever I tried to do it without letting it dry the back would bunch up. I would consider this an important step.

The most important thing that I think everyone is wondering about Bestskinsever is how much it’s like the Invisible Shield. Honestly as I said before they are the dead same protection wise. They feel the same and look the same 100%. Look below to see what I mean:

The Zune has the Bestskinsever and the Nintendo DS Lite has the Invisible Shield.

Also please check out the video below. It should give you an idea of how the Bestskinsever looks when it’s on. You can barely see it in the video, but that of course is a very good thing!

Overall I am amazed at this product that Bestskinsever has to offer. It might not come with a lifetime warranty like Zagg’s Invisible Shield does, but in most cases you can buy two of the Bestskinsever for the price of one Invisible Shield. The protection is the same, the looks is the same, the application is way smooth, and the price is a fraction of the cost. In my honest opinion If you can get a Bestskinsever for your product I would.

I am giving them a 9/10 overall. The only downside is the corner issue, but everything else is just perfect.
